Starting a New Unit

Establishing a new Legion of Honor is a rewarding achievement.  The Legion of Honor fosters patriotism and camaraderie among veterans and service members. It honors the love of country and respect for the flag while preserving the memory of comrades-in-arms who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation. Forming a new unit requires only a few committed members with the initiative to lead and support fellow members and the Shrine temple.

To support the formation of a new unit, the International Legion of Honor has created procedures to guide the process.  When you are ready to begin, use the procedures, application, and suggested bylaws links to access the information you need.

The International Lt. Commander assigned to the division in which your Temple is located will help and guide you through the process.  If you need the Lt. Commander’s contact information, contact the International Adjutant for assistance.

Unit Reinstatement

If a Unit has gone inactive and wants to become active again, it must submit a Reinstatement Application.

To reinstate the Unit, complete the Reinstatement Application and submit it, along with all required documents and dues, to the Lieutenant Commander responsible for the Division where the Unit is located. If you need the Lieutenant Commander’s contact information, submit a contact request to the International Adjutant.
